Pet Care

In the spring of 2016, Bill and Debbie Harris added onsite cremation care for both humans and pets at our Richland Funeral Home on Cherry Lane. While located at their funeral home in Richland, the services are offered to anyone who may need them. As pet lovers themselves, Bill and Debbie felt strongly about adding end of life services for pets to the funeral care services they have offered the area since 1980.

Since then, Laurel Highlands Crematory Pet Division has served many area families during their time of pet loss. We have arranged the cremations of dogs, cats, a hedgehog and an iguana to name a few. No matter what kind of pet you may have, they all become parts of the family. We care about them deeply and see them as loved ones too! We promise the same level of care to every member of your family — even the ones who are fur, scales or feathers!

At our arrangement facility, we offer a comprehensive line of contemporary and traditional pet urns as well as pet keepsake jewelry.

At any time, you are welcome to tour our facility and browse our selection. You may even visit in advance to gain the knowledge about the process and see first hand where your pet will be cared for at that unfortunate time. We offer transfer services from veterinary offices and your home during both day and night; however, some families want to bring their pets to us themselves as part of their personal care for their pet. When you are in need of our end of life pet care, simply call our funeral home business line and we will gather the information we need to assist you.

As part of our dedication to serving the needs and desires of our pet families, we also offer a pet tribute page. It is a place where we will post a photo of your pet (You and your whole family can be in the picture too if you’d like), your pet’s name and information. If you are not interested in your pet’s information being included on the remembrance page, that’s alright too. We respect your wishes and desires in that regard, but we will always offer you all of the services we are prepared to provide to you at a most difficult time.

Please feel free to call our funeral home phone at any time to ask about our pet care services. We would be glad to sit down with you and discuss them in advance or handle arrangements at your time of need. And as always, we welcome those families who would like to tour our facility and see it firsthand. If a death of a pet happens unexpectedly, please call when you need us, our phones are answered 24 hours a day.
