Zeitha I. Hammer

Hammer, Zeitha I., “Zee”, 90, of East Taylor Township, passed away on August 26, 2013 at Maple Winds Care Center.  Born on June 29, 1923 in Nanty Glo. Daughter of Samuel Armstrong and Mame O. (Wagner) Campbell. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her second husband, Robert Hammer; infant daughter, Karen; son, Jeffrey L. “J.P.”; brothers, William, Irvin, Roy, Dean, Milton, Milan, Harry and Dale. Also sisters, Alice Lee, Martha Rorabaugh, Doris Oaks and Elnora Dunlap. She is survived by her first husband, Clair J. Price, Johnstown; children, Doris Bucci, Nanty Glo, Sharon, wife of Jake Salem, Ebensburg, Sonia, wife of Jan Patcher, Richland, Clair “Bud” married to the former Terri Shaffer, East Taylor Township, Melody Price and her companion, Vern Marshall both of San Bernardino, CA; daughter-in-law, Laura (Gregorich) Price-Shrift, St. Michael; grandchildren, Frank Bucci, Karen (Bryan) Mayes, Jeff (Debra) Salem, Tawni Salem, Amy (P.J.) McMullen, Melissa (Steve) Cooper, Cody and Adam Price, Sean Price, and Joel and Tyler Price; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Hill, St. Petersburg, FL and Joyce Handlon, Cherry Tree, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Zee was a member of Summit Chapel United Methodist Church and member of the former Rebekah Lodge of Nanty Glo. She enjoyed playing cards, and cooking and baking for family outings and holidays. Zee loved spending time with her entire family and will be remembered for her witty humor and her pleasant, loving nature. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her. Her family would like to sincerely thank the care givers at Maple Winds Care Center for their love and devotion in caring for Zee. Friends will be received from 3-7 P.M. on Thursday and from 10 A.M. until time of service at 11 A.M. on Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. John H.
