Torak, William J., “Bill”, 96, of Richland Township, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2012 at his home with his family at his side. He was born on April 26, 1916 in Johnstown. Son of Joseph and Mary (Latza) Torak. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph, Louis and Edward and sisters, Mary Macy, Margaret Clark and Elizabeth and Theresa Torok. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Margaret E. (Boothman) Torak; daughter, Dorothy M., wife of Joseph Petrosky, Richland Township; son, William R., married to the former Sarah Katz, Port Charlotte, FL; grandchildren, Faye L., wife of Gary Straw, and Jeffrey J., married to the former Denise Schrader, all of Richland Township; great grandchildren, John, Mark and Katelyn Petrosky and several nieces and nephews. Bill was a graduate of Johnstown High School. He retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation after 25 years of service as a crane operator along with being owner and operator of Bill’s C. Prime Coal. Bill was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. He was an avid duck pin bowler, who had a perfect 300 game at Capitol Lanes in Johnstown. Bill also enjoyed golfing with his son and brothers, and fishing with his great grandsons. He loved spending time with his entire family at Deep Creek Lake, MD. Friends will be received from 3-7 P.M. on Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Fr. Angelo Patti, Pastor. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery.
