Seifert, William J., 93, of Bedford, passed away on April 2, 2012 at Pennknoll Village, Everett, PA. Born on December 28, 1918 in Johnstown. Son of Frank and Lucy (Tadejeske) Seifert. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose Marie, “Posey” Seifert; sister, Helene O’Connor and a brother, George. He is survived by his loving children, Mary Ann wife of Harvey Shull, Johnstown, William F., Myerstown, PA, Kathleen wife of Tim Thiel, Bedford, Raymond married to the former Charlene Steinhagen, Columbia, PA, David married to the former Kathleen Krueger, Johnstown, Nancy wife of John Krueger, Frederick, MD, Donald, Snow Shoe, PA and Janet wife of Paul Drummey, Bradenton, FL; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; niece, Jean Ann Berry, CA; nephews, George Seifert, CA and Richard Beitel, FL. Bill retired in 1975 after 38 years of employment at Bethlehem Steel Corporation, where he was an Assistant Superintendent in the Production Scheduling Department. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Bedford and a former member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Bill was a devoted and loving father. He enjoyed camping, gardening and fishing. Bill was a charter member of the Johnstown Incliners and the Good Sam Club. He and his late wife, Rose loved living at Friendship Village for 28 years and were charter members of the Friendship Village Social Club. Bill made many friends through the years there and loved sharing his garden produce with them. He and his wife, spent 25 winters in Florida and traveled through Europe and the Caribbean and much of the US, but his greatest joy was his family and friends. On behalf of Bill, his family would like to thank the kind care givers at Pennknoll Village. Friends will be received from 3-7 PM on Monday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral mass will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Thomas School, 129 West Penn Street, Bedford, PA 15522 in memory of William.
