Oreskovich - William F., “Sharkey”, 88, of West Taylor Township, formerly of Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on October 22, 2015 at his daughter’s residence. He was born on August 12, 1927 in Johnstown. Son of John and Agnes (Buckovich) Oreskovich. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Haynal and Amelia Tegley and a brother, John. Survived by loving wife of 60 of years, Mary (Petriska) Oreskovich, West Taylor Township; children, Donna Jean Reincke and her fiancé, Russell L. Naugle both of West Taylor Township and William married to the former Theresa Workowsky, Winfield, PA; grandchildren, Cierra Reincke-Lujan, Las Vegas, NV, SGT. Matthew Reincke, Las Vegas, NV, Andrew, Sarah and Claire Oreskovich, all of Winfield, PA; great grandchildren, Bryce and Presley Lujan, both of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Matthew, Johnstown; sister, Jenny Voytas, Johnstown; sisters-in-law, Julia wife of Nick Visosvsky, Franklin Borough and Elizabeth Karan, Johnstown and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was a US Navy Veteran serving during WWII. He retired from the City of Johnstown where he was employed as Police Chief. After he retired from the City of Johnstown he later was employed as Chief of Security for the Conemaugh Generating Station, Seward, PA. Bill was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church; Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #86; life member of Menoher Post #155 VFW; American Legion Post #294 and the Catholic War Vets. He enjoyed traveling in his younger years and sitting on his deck and watching wild life. Bill loved spending time with his entire family. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Father David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be held at Grandview Cemetery with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. On line condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
