William E. Moore

Moore – William E., 72, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Born on July 23, 1945 in Johnstown, son of the late Stanley W. and Grace A. (Seese) Moore. In addition to his parents; brother, Stanley W. Jr., and brothers-in-law, Donald Shannon and Thomas Prigmore.

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Ruth J. (McCreary) Moore, Richland Township; sons, Edward J. Moore, married to the former Kathie Maloney, Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Thomas R. Grove, married to the former Deborah Brall, Grand Prairie, TX and James K. Grove, married to the former Nicole Benza, Wilmore, PA; grandchildren, James Michael Moore, Summer, Kevin, and Madeline Grove, and Mark and Caroline Grove; and great-grandchild, Charlotte Grace Telck; siblings, Elsie E. Prigmore, Seward, PA, Betty J. Roth, Westmont, and Jane A. Shannon, New Florence, PA and several nieces and nephews.

 

Bill was a 1963 graduate of Laurel Valley High School. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. While in the Navy he became a Fire Control Technician. Bill retired from Bethlehem Steel, where he was employed as an electrician. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Westmont. Bill enjoyed reading and traveling, especially on cruise ships and spending time at the casinos. He loved his family and his grandchildren very much.

 

At Bill’s request there will be no public viewing or service. Inurnment will be at Richland Cemetery. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association, 444 Liberty Ave #1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222; or the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15205 in memory of Bill.
