William H. Miller

Miller, William H., “Bill”, “Shorty”, 76, of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2014, surrounded by his family. Born on January 19, 1938 in Johnstown, son of Daniel W. and Mary A. (McCreary) Miller. Preceded in death by his parents; 2 infant daughters; brothers, James and Robert and a sister, Shirley Vavrek. He is survived by his loving daughters, Patricia M. Horner and her fiancé, Jeffrey Harrison both of Johnstown and Christina L, wife of George Mahan, East Conemaugh; loving friend, Patricia M. Miller, Johnstown; grandchildren, Melinda M., wife of Thomas Schmidt, Hubert, NC, Jason A. Horner, married to the former Kara Kirby, Johnstown, Michael A. Mahan and his fiancée, Denise Furor, both of Vinco, and William M. Horner, Johnstown; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Daniel, married to the former Loretta Caddy, Paul, and Hazel Shaulis all of Johnstown and several nieces and nephews. Bill retired as a car mechanic and was employed at various dealerships. He enjoyed working on cars, collecting V.W.’s, and loved playing country music. Bill will be remembered for his country clothes, his humor and his kind generosity. He always put others before himself. Friends will be received from 2 P.M. until time of service at 4 P.M. on Thursday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh. Private burial will be at Benshoff Hill Cemetery at a later date.
