William C. Buzzard III

BUZZARD---William C. III, 79, Windber, passed away September 10, 2020, in Windber. Born March 22, 1941, in Johnstown, son of William C. Jr. and Ruth (Foltz) Buzzard. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Darlene (Buzzard) Chandler; father-in-law, Walter Angus; brothers-in-law, Daniel Angus, John “Jack” Horten and David Empfield. Survived by wife of 58 years, Karen (Angus) Buzzard, whom he married on March 17, 1962; children, William C. (former Beth Hunter) Buzzard IV; Dana Peruso (William); Amy Stem (Steve); grandchildren, Samantha Peruso, William C. Buzzard V (Kyndra), Danielle Owens (John), Carley Buzzard, Stephanie Slack and Kayla Thomas and 11 great-grandchildren. Brother of Thomasene Neary (William) and DeVoy Horten. Also survived by mother-in-law, Irene Angus, sisters-in-law, Suzann Risch (Joseph), Diana Empfield, Audrey Dubovecky, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill worked for over 30 years for Stroehman Baking Co. He enjoyed bowling and hunting and he was an avid golfer who golfed every day at Oakbrook Golf Course. Member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Windber. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Ruth Jensen officiating.
