Brett, William M., âBillâ, 87, of Jackson Township, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital. He was born on August 4, 1924 in Robinson, PA. Son of Ralph and Edith (McClure) Brett. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sherman, James and Richard; sisters, Florence Richards and Inez Super. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Eva K. (Johnson) Brett; children, William D. Sr., married to the former Judy Metzger, Jackson Township, Robert D., married to the former Agnes Malloy, Richland Township and Joan B., wife of Harry Brown, Jackson Township; grandchildren, Robert Jr., Kristen, Brian, Jennifer, William Jr., Christopher, Sean, and Jessica; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bill was a graduate of Bolivar High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the WW II. Bill was employed at the former PA Rail Road and later retired from Penn Central Rail Road after 40 years of service as a Brakeman and Conductor. He was a member of the Conemaugh-Franklin American Legion Post # 0633; Robinson Post #9310 V.F.W. and the United Transportation Union Local#0632 for 65 years. Bill enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved his many trips to Canada and spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 10 A.M. until time of service at 11 A.M. on Friday at Summit Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John H. Weaver officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team at the church. Family is being served by the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231` First Street, Conemaugh. Private inurnment will be at Benshoff Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family suggests contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society, Central Region, Cambria Unit, 351 Budfield Street, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of William.
