William B. Barclay

BARCLAY – William Bush, 91, Elton, passed away on September 21, 2023 surrounded by his family.  Born March 11, 1932, son of William and Maude (Bush) Barclay.  Preceded in death by parents, sister Eileen and half-sister, Bertha.  Survived by wife of 61 years, Ruby Barclay and children Keith (Brenda), Kurt (Robin), Kris (Scott) Cramer, and Kory (Jenn), and grandchildren Ben (Jessica) Barclay, Gabrielle Barclay, Sara Barclay, Samantha Cramer, Alex Barclay, Bryce Barclay, Jetta Barclay and Danielle Cramer.  Bill graduated from Westminster College with a Bachelor’s degree in business, and then he was drafted into the Army where he served in the 11th Airborne Division. Bill worked for Peoples Natural Gas Company which is where he met his lovely wife.  He retired in 1989 from Peoples Gas as the Manager of Administrations and Accounting.  In his retirement years, Bill continued to be a devoted father and mentor to his children as they began their own families. Bill adored his wife, “Rube.”  He loved to hunt and fish with his kids and loved spending time with his grandkids making sure each one received plenty of “Pap-naps.”  Bill lived his life for God, his Country and his family. The family will receive friends from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Monday at Elton Zion Church, with Pastor Daryl Penrod officiating.
