Smith – Wilber L. Jr., “Bud,” 80, of Richland, passed away on August 18, 2022, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born on August 26, 1941, in Johnstown, PA, he was the son of the late Wilber L. Smith, Sr. and Eva L. (Larkin) Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria M. (Platt) Smith; brother, Jerry D. Smith; half-brother, Evan Smith. He is survived by his loving sister, Donna Kime, and brother, Frederick Smith; numerous nieces and nephews. Wilber proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a policeman for the Washington Metropolitan Police Department. Wilber retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation from the Bar Wire and Rod Mill. He was a past member of the NRA, VFW, and American Legion. He was an avid reader and enjoyed working on his cars. Wilber will be dearly missed by his family. At Wilber’s request, there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022, at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
