McCombie, Walter L., 88, Johnstown, passed on May 19, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bakerton, son of the late Walter J. & Mary (Harris) McCombie. Preceeded in death by parents, son-in-law’s, David Colbert and Mark Peretin; sisters Dorothy Yeager, Ruth Allison and Olive Bailey; and sister-in-law Caroline Gosnell. Survived by his wife of 67 years, Nancy L. (Stevens) McCombie and children; Regina Colbert, Pauline (Roy) Emerick, William, W. Ray (Suzette Markum), Tammy (David) Rohme and Carol Peretin; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother George (Kathy Denk) and sisters, Peggy Flores, Shirley (Bruce) Berkey, Cally (Wil) Stiles; brothers-in-law, Charles Bailey and David (Mary) Stevens, sisters-in-law, Rosemarie Nemeth, Linda (Ray) Zabala. Founder and Operator of McCombie Masonry Construction for 35 years. Charter member and former Fire Chief of Solomon Run Volunteer Fire Department. Life member of Daisytown Sportsman’s Club. Life member of NRA and American Trap Assoc. Avid hunter and trapshooter. Friends received 6-8 Pm Saturday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, and from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Monday at Bethany United Methodist Church where service will be held at 10:30 AM.
