Violet Eileen Sexton

Sexton, Violet Eileen, 85, of Elton. Passed away April 23, 2014, at Laurelwood Care Center.  Born May 2, 1928, in Elton.  Daughter of Walter R.  and Julia (Hoffman  ) Gearhart.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Michael Daniel Sexton; brothers Earl, George, Edwin, Forrest, Vernon and Warren;  sisters Thelma Naugle, Olive Wilson and Leah Jean Ferrier; and half brother , Walter Berkeley. Survived by loving daughters, Cheryl, wife of Harry Birkhimer, Jr. of Allentown, PA. ; Danette wife of Donald Overdorff of Johnstown; and Janice, wife of Gregory Fisher of Yardley, PA. Grandchildren; Brian Birkhimer, married to the former Janine Martini of Janesville, WI; Amy Birkhimer of Johnstown;  Justin  and Julie Ingalls Overdorff of San Francisco; Christopher Overdorff of Johnstown;  Sarah Overdorff Smith, wife of  Michael Smith of Washington, DC; Ashley Fisher , Bradley Fisher and  Christian Fisher all of Yardley.  Also survived by five great-children and numerous nieces and nephews. Violet was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral Mass at 10 am Monday at St. Benedict Church.  Fr. David S.
