VANN â Thomas O.,82, Geistown, died peacefully at Windber Hospice on March 21, 2014. Born December 2, 1931, in Johnstown, son of the late Harry C. and Viola C. (Donnelly) Vann. Also preceded in death by sister, Shirley Grove, sister, Dolores Kimble, and brother, Harry S. Vann. Survived by loving wife of 62 years, Helen J. (Sikora) Vann; son; Robert T. Vann, married to the former Diana Mishler, Westmont, James A. Vann, Geistown, and Larry D. Vann, married to the former Marilyn Volpatti, Canada; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom retired from Island Creek Coal Company and was a member of the U.M.W.A. He also served in the PA National Guard 628 Tank Battalion. Visitation will be held from 3-7 P.M. on Monday and from 9 A.M. until time of service at 10 A.M. on Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Entombment will be at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum, with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 V.F.W. Ritual Team.
