Selfridge – Thomas Gary, “Gar”, 81, East Taylor Township, went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2024 at Windber Hospice. Born on August 17, 1943 in Johnstown, son of Alvin E. and Eleanor (LaSator) Selfridge. Preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Alvin S., “Sam”
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Karyn K. (Lenhart) Selfridge, East Taylor Township; siblings, Jean Selfridge, Nanty Glo, Jacqueline (Selfridge) Ballow, Johnstown, John, married to the former Rose Yesenosky, Jackson Township, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Gary was a US Airforce Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from Penelec as a Supervisor of the Warehouse. He was a member of the Park Hill American Legion Post #970, and a former member of St. Rochus Catholic Church. Gary enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, smoking a good cigar, and spending time with his buddies at the Legion. He loved visiting with his family and will be missed dearly. Gary’s family would like to thank Windber Hospice for their loving care.
Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of prayer service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Baker Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services, Conemaugh, Deacon Michael Russo. Committal will be at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum with Military Rites conducted by Menoher Post #55 VFW Ritual Team. The family suggests contributions be directed to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber, PA 15963 in memory of Thomas G. Selfridge.
