Thomas E. Krupa Sr.

Krupa – Thomas Sr., 87, Irwin, formerly of East Conemaugh, went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2017 at his residence. Born on March 28, 1930 in Johnstown, son of John and Mary (Medvetsky) Krupa. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Rudolph, and Eugene, and sister, Mary Magdalene Hopper. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marion (Znidarsic) Krupa; children, Tom Jr., Johnstown, Laura L., wife of Dezi Danko, Irwin, and Adam J., married to the former Caren Merritt, Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Nicholas J. Krupa, Elizabeth City, NC, Sarah A., wife of Alex Parlock, Huntington, WV, and Michael Thomas Danko, Irwin; sister, Delores Kissel, Rockville, MD and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was a 1948 graduate of East Conemaugh High School. He later earned a Masters Degree in Education from University of Pittsburgh. Tom was a US Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired from McKeesport Area School District, where he was employed as an English Literature teacher. Tom was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Herminie, PA, where he served as past president of the church council and volunteered a great deal of his time, he was also a life member of the East Conemaugh Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed trout fishing with his sons and grandsons. Tom loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He will be affectionately remembered as the best baby sitter in the world. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. on Monday at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, Rev. Dr. Robert F. Oravetz. Committal will be at Holy Trinity Church Cemetery with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family is being served by the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh.
