NOSKO---Thomas J., 75, Johnstown, died peacefully January 8, 2025 at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 18, 1949, in Johnstown, son of John Joseph and Josephine Patricia (Waronek) Nosko. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Bob Nosko and sister-in-law, Alexis Nosko. Survived by daughter, Tomi Lynne Nosko, Johnstown; grandsons, Logan and Landon Heptner and granddaughters, Ella and Hanna Leitenberger; sister, Donna Hagerich and husband, Donald, Johnstown; also survived by an aunt, nieces and nephews and numerous cousins; and his “girls” at Westmont Eat-N-Park and Denny’s in Richland. Tom was an Eagle Scout from Boy Scouts of America, Johnstown Troop 10 and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He was a staff member at Roaring Run Boy Scout Reservation. He was a graduate of Bishop McCort Catholic High School and was a proud Vietnam era Army veteran and served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard with the 876th Engineers. He was a recipient of the National Guard Association’s Valley Forge Cross and The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Cross for Valor. Both of those awards were given to Tom for his valor and gallantry displayed during the Johnstown Flood of 1977. Tom retired from Pepsi Bottling Company in Johnstown where he worked for over 30 years. He was an active member of the Single Action Shooting Society, Tire Hill Rod & Gun Club, Ferndale Sportsmen’s Club. He was an avid model railroader and was a huge fan of western movies. He enjoyed a good Old Fashioned (if it were made correctly). The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2025 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and again from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025, with Fr. David S. Peles officiating. Committal, Richland Cemetery, Soldier’s Circle East with military graveside rites by Menoher VFW, Post #155 Ritual team.
