Thomas C. Bango

Bango – Thomas C., “Bunjo”, 71, Franklin Borough, went to be with the Lord on October 29, 2016 at his residence. Born on April 5, 1945 in Johnstown, son of Charles and Minnie (Bosser) Bango. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, George; brother-in-law, George M. Moore, and sisters-in-law, Delores Berkebile, Vera Louise Cooper, Beverly White and Lois Dietz. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Connie I (Moore) Bango, Franklin Borough; children, Stephanie A., wife of Todd L. Bair, Cover Hill, Thomas C. Bango Jr., Sidman; grandchildren, Alanna L., Todd J. “T.J.”, and Deanna N. Bair all of Cover Hill, McKenzie L. and Brennden H. Bango, both of Jackson Township; sisters, Debbie, wife of Gil Barrett, New Bern, NC and Tina Bango, New Cumberland, PA; brother, Steve, married to the former Dorothy Kazmierczyk, Upper Yoder Township; brothers-in-law, Ted (Dawn) Moore, Bangor, PA, Homer Moore, Daniel (Jackie) Moore, all of Johnstown and Garry Moore and Fiancee, Darlene both of Jackson Township; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Tom was a 1964 graduate of Franklin High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Tom retired from Freightcar America after 35 years of service as a welder. He attended Conemaugh Grace Brethren Church. Tom was a life member of the Sgt. Michael Strank Post #5107 V.F.W., Franklin, where he served as Past Commander; life member of the Franklin Volunteer Fire Company; Officer at the German-Austrian Hall. He enjoyed bowling, camping, watching the Steelers, hunting, fishing, and tormenting his grandchildren with golf balls. Tom loved sitting by a fire with his family. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, with the Pastor Rick Horner officiating. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. Contributions may be directed to the family in memory of Tom.
