Theodore C. Partsch

PARTSCH----Theodore C. “Ted,” 91, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2022 at home. Born February 3, 1931, in Johnstown, son of Frank and Agnes (Gerber) Partsch. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Ben, Francis, Raymond “Moon,” Robert, Eugene “Bud,” and sisters, Mary Rose “Winnie,” Patricia “Patsy,” Appolonia “Peggy,” and Dolores “Dolly.” Survived by loving wife, Shirley (Schellhammer) Partsch; son, Brian Partsch and wife, Catherine (Freiwald); grandchildren, Samantha Dallas (James), Tiffany Partsch (Michael) and Steven Partsch (Alisha); great-grandchildren, Paige, James Dean, Layla, Wyatt, Carson, Easton and Cohen. Ted was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He and Shirley were married for 67 years and they enjoyed their time together with their family. Ted became a member of the Cover Hill Volunteer Fire Company after returning from the Korean War, where he was a field wireman and Sergeant. He was given an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army. After his return he worked at Bethlehem Steel as a machinist and retired after 38 years of service. Ted has been recognized a fire warden by the PA Forestry Department for over 50 years of service. He had 36 wonderful years as the chief of the Cover Hill Fire Company and was a life member of the Cambria County Regional Firefighters Association. Ted was a member of the Southwestern Water Authority for 35 years. Member of SS. Gregory and Barnabas Catholic Parish. He loved spending time with family and friends and loved going camping and fishing. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where a fireman’s service will be held and Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Fr. Callistus Elue officiating. Entombment, Grandview Mausoleum with military graveside rites by Menoher VFW, Post #155. Online condolences may be posted at www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
