Thomas – Sylvia J., “Saya”, 77, of Mineral Point, went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2016 at her daughter’s residence. Born on September 5, 1938 in Johnstown, daughter of Samuel and Bessie (Gasior) Gvozdich. Preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Maurice Thomas Jr. She is survived by her loving children, Christine M, wife of Daniel R. Yahnert, Mineral Point; son, Matt “Mickey” Thomas, VA; granddaughters, Daniella M. Yahnert, Park Hill, Dr. Jessica L., wife of Dr. Brian Masser, Beech Hill, Thomas Yahnert, Nanty Glo; great grandchildren, Bryanna E. Yahnert, Bryton R. Yackulich, Lance C. and Gwen A. Masser; sister, Patricia L. Oleksa, East Conemaugh; sister-in-law, Margaret Thomas, Davidsville and 1 niece and 3 nephews. Saya enjoyed the watching the Steelers’s, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved more than anything. At Saya’s request there will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, with the Rev.
