Susan J. Mock

Mock - Susan J., 74, of Johnstown, PA, passed away on January 26, 2025. Born on March 20, 1950 in Johnstown to William F. and Mary Katherine Brandle, Susan was a graduate of Richland High School and an alumni of St. Francis University. She was also a dedicated employee of Goodwill Industries of the Conemaugh Valley, Inc. for over 20 years. She was known for her strong work ethic, talent as a seamstress, quilting expertise, and exceptional baking skills.

Susan had a deep love for the ocean, gardening, traveling with her husband, and finding treasures while shopping for antiques and crafts. She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Harry R. Mock; her children, Vincent Mock (married to Jennifer (Riddle) Mock), Jennifer Brown (married to Keith Brown), Sarah Helman (married to Carl Helman), and Seth Mock (married to Natalie (Hazel) Mock).

Susan cherished her amazing sibling group and is survived by Helen Sorchilla (wife of Charles Sorchilla, Sr.), Patricia Bracken, Rebecca Phizacklea, Elaine Diehl, Christopher Brandle (husband of Karen Brandle), and Jeffrey Brandle (husband of Kristina Brandle). Susan is preceded in death by her sister Mary (Kitty) Botteicher, and brother, William (Bill) Brandle.

She adored her five grandchildren: Meghan Sauter (Mock) married to Jacob Sauter, Bryan Mock (married to Hannah (Lauer) Mock), Lauren Mock, Emma Brown, and Ava Helman; and two great-grandchildren, Jack Sauter and Crew Sauter. Susan loved her grandbabies fiercely and, despite years of medical challenges, fought hard to witness their milestones. Susan will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

 Viewing for close friends and family will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 3rd, at West Hills Community Church, with the Rev. David A. Streets officiating. Private burial will be at St. Anthony Cemetery, Geistown. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
