Lomago – Stephen J., 88, of Richland, was called by the Lord on October 7, 2024. Born on July 28, 1936 in Van Voorhis, PA, son of George Sr. and Julia (Koroly) Lomago. Steve is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: George Jr., Charles, Julia (Lomago) Wallace, Betty Jane (Lomago) Parsons and Anne Lomago: Michael, Victor George, Mary Frances (Husar) Tollette and John Husar.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, JoAnne (Marra) Lomago; children, Jon (Debora) Lomago, Pittsburgh, Frank (Michelle) Lomago, Breinigsville, PA, Stephen (Robyn) Lomago, Orlando, FL, and Dianne (John) Wainwright, Johnstown; grandchildren, Ryan (Micaela) Lomago, Kristyn Lomago (Matt Gill) , Nick (Jazmin) Lomago, Brendan Lomago, Justin Lomago, and Jordan Wainwright (Kelly Howard); great-grandchildren, Jayce, and Hana; brother, Frank (Judi) Lomago, Monongahela, PA. Steve is also survived by many loving extended family members, including Brothers-in-Law Tom Parson, Marshall Marra and beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Steve was a 1954 graduate of Charleroi High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Steve was employed at US Steel and later retired from Johnstown Corporation as an electrician. He was an active member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, and Richland American Legion Post #849, where he served as a former Commander. Steve enjoyed golfing and loved spending time with his many friends and family.
Friends will be received from noon – 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Military rites will be conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team at the church. Private inurnment will be at Monongahela Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to UPMC Hillman Cancer Research and Family House in Steve's memory.. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
