Stephen J. Figard

Figard – Stephen J., 66, Geistown Borough, went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2014 at his residence. Born on March 9, 1948 in Johnstown, son of Floyd and Margaret W. (Garrety) Figard. Preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Garrety; brother, Blair Figard. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Barbara M. (Turner) Figard, Geistown Borough; daughters, Marylou, wife of Jeremy Matas, Mechanicsburg, Stephanie M. Rogers, Portage, and Miranda B. Figard, Portage; grandchildren, Nathan, Emily, Austin, Lilly, Darius, and Aspyn; brother, Neil Figard; aunt, Mary Catherine Hurtak, Harrisburg and several nieces and nephews. Stephen was a graduate of United High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Stephen enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of the Steelers. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his generosity. Stephen always made himself available to his friends and family. Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until time of service at 5 p.m. on Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Gary L. Tustin officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Disabled American Veterans, VA Regional Office, 1000 Liberty Ave., Rm. 1606 Pittsburgh ,PA 15222 (dav.org)  in memory of Stephen.
