Yesenosky - Stella Ann, 91, Vinco, went to be with the Lord June 18, 2023. Born in Vinco on her family’s farm, Stella was the daughter of James and Victoria Kosiorek. She was the last surviving member of the Kosiorek family of ten children, which included eight sisters and two brothers. Preceding Stella in death are her parents, her husband of 53 years, George, whom she married on August 27, 1953, and her siblings: Frances Schenck, Helen Kronen, Alice Gemza, Bertha Zajdel, Mary Stibich, Susan Simsic, Rose Yesenosky, Leo Kosiorek, and Edward Kosiorek.
Stella is survived by her four children: Stephen, Ebensburg; Deb, Vinco; Marcia, Ebensburg; and Dr. George (Linda Ruszala), Philadelphia. Stella was the loving grandmother to her six grandchildren: Stephen (Greta Persio), Adam (Tara Viti), Phillip, Amanda, Ashley, and Jenna. Six great-grandchildren brought Stella joy and plenty of hugs: Brady, Beckett, Hadley, Chase, Elle, and Antonette Yesenosky.
She was a 1949 graduate of East Conemaugh High School and attended Cambria Rowe Business College. Believing in the value of hard work, Stella held many jobs throughout her lifetime; she was employed by the Ohio Bell Telephone Co., Cambria County War Memorial Arena, and Riverside Markets as a talented cake decorator. Stella shared her love of flowers and weddings with newlyweds as the co-owner of Simply Elegant Wedding Designs. Always cognizant of serving her community, Stella was Inspector of Elections for many years. Staying true to her belief in helping others, Stella was an integral member of the Jackson Township Lions Club, Jackson Township Senior Center, and St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
A woman of many talents, Stella’s favorite hobbies were making flower arrangements and serving weddings at the St. John Vianney Church Hall. Some of Stella’s best memories were going on bus trips with “the gang.” Stella was an excellent cook who enjoyed hosting her family and friends, especially by sharing her famous pigs in the blankets, haluski, pierogis, and homemade candy. She will always be remembered as a generous and loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. One of Stella’s final wishes was to thank her daughter, Deb, for caring for her; Stella shared that Deb treated her as royalty. Stella also wished to extend her heartfelt thanks to her other children who helped her. A very special thank you was shared by Stella to Dorothy Collins for her never-ending support and care.
At Stella’s request, there will be no viewing. If you wish to share in the celebration of Stella’s life, please be with Stella’s family at the Funeral Mass, 1 p.m. on Thursday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Fr. Timothy Harris, T.O.R. Committal service will be held at Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg, where Stella will be laid to rest with her loving husband, George. Stella taught her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the value of education and supported her family by always attending school and sporting events. Stella’s family wishes to share her value in education with the community. Her family suggests contributions be made to the Central Cambria Education Foundation for the Stella Yesenosky Memorial Scholarship. Donations can be sent to Central Cambria Education Foundation P.O. Box 624 Ebensburg, PA 15931. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
