Kowal, Stanley J. "Stush", 80, of Ravenna, Ohio, formerly of East Conemaugh, PA, passed away on November 4th, 2022. Born September 11th, 1942 in Conemaugh, Pennsylvania. Son of Stanley John and Mary (Wojtaszek) Kowal. Preceded in death by his father, mother, sister (Phyllis Blum, late wife of William Blum,) sister-in-law (Beverly (Niton) Mott), brother in laws (Paul Horwat, late husband of Regina Horwat and Fran Wentz, late husband of Darlene Wentz). Survived by his wife Diana (Niton), celebrating 50 years of marriage this past August. Survived by daughters, Mary (Jason) Greschaw and Jackie “Smiles” (Greg) Chatel; sister, Regina Horwat; brother, John Kowal; grandchildren, Beau Greschaw, Lukasz Greschaw, and Ashleigh Chatel; sister-in-law, Darlene Wentz; brother in law, Stanley (Betty) Niton; nieces and nephews, Natalie Horwat, Michael (Danielle) Horwat, David (Ashley) Wentz, Dina Dues and Trish (Julia) Caramico; and many great nieces and nephews. Stush graduated from East Conemaugh High School in 1961. He retired from Daimler Chrysler Twinsburg Stamping plant in Twinsburg, Ohio after 30 years of service. After retiring, Stush proudly devoted his time to the Knights of Columbus in Ravenna, Ohio. He was a 4th Degree member holding the offices of Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator and worked with the veterans. He belonged to St. Peter of Fields Church in Rootstown, Ohio where he also served as a Eucharistic minister. Stush lived every day knowing it was a gift from God. He enjoyed seeing the world while traveling with his wife. He cheered on his grandsons at their sporting events seeing his youth through them. He loved recounting his younger years racing his 1963 ½ Ford Galaxie car in Conemaugh. He enjoyed listening to his oldie’s music singing along to all the words. Stush knew no stranger. Family and friends are welcomed to celebrate his life at Baker Harris Funeral Chapel 229-231 First St. Conemaugh, PA 15909 on Monday Nov. 7 from 3 to 7 pm. Where Vigil Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am Tuesday at Church of the Transfiguration on Oak St. in Conemaugh. Fr. Robert C. Hall, Pastor. Committal at Assumption Cemetery in East Taylor Twp.
