Sophie T. Cuturilo

Cuturilo - Sophie T., 100, of East Conemaugh Borough, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2019 at her residence. Born on January 9, 1919 in Johnstown. Daughter of Steve and Anna (Mccydem) Gasior. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Adam Cuturilo Sr.; son, Adam Jr.; granddaughter, Shontelle Ostinowsky; siblings, Theodore “Teddy”, Bessie Gvozdich, Joe “PeeWee”, Bill, Mary “Mela” Kazik, and Rosie Zajdel, and her little buddy Snow Ball. She is survived by her loving children, Annette, wife of John “Jack” Ostinowsky, Twin Rocks, PA and Loretta, wife of Paul S. Kalinyak, East Conemaugh Borough; grandchildren, Adam, married to the former Michelle Telenko, Jerome, PA, Larry, married to the former Toni Shaffer, Ragers Hill, Johnny, married to the former Sara Kirsch, Hollidaysburg, PA, Adam M, married to the former Tara Wenger, Mechanicsburg, PA, Renee, wife of Tim Williamson, Nanty Glo, PA and Marko, Park Hill; great grandchildren, Sophia, Dylan, Kirsten, Isaac, Noah, Kaitlyn, Kendra, Jenna, and Casey (James); sister-in-law, Jeannie Cuturilo, and several nieces and nephews. Sophie was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration and life member of the Conemaugh Fire Club. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and crocheting. Sophie will be remembered for her kind nature and was always helping friends and neighbors. She loved spending time with her entire family. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Church of the Transfiguration, Fr. Robert C. Hall, Pastor. Private burial will be at Assumption Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Church of the Transfiguration, 335 Second Street, Conemaugh, PA 15909 in memory of Sophie.
