Shawn D. Rager

Rager, Shawn D., 45, of Johnstown. Died Oct. 13, 2016, at home. Born Dec. 8, 1970, in New Jersey. Son of the late Paul and Mildred (Crammer) Rager. Also preceded in death by sister, Paulette Riddell. Survived by wife of 25 years, Lisa M. (Kush); and sons, Nicholas, Brandon, Zachary and Connor Rager. Brother of Paul Rager, James Rager, Roxanne Holmes, Carol Jean Schue, Debbie, Sandi Alford and Jennifer Rager. Brother in law of Pam Ardary, Becky Berkey and Connie Cross; and son in law of Carol Adams. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. 1989 graduate of Greater Johnstown Vo-Tech; 1991 graduate of the Police Academy. A police Officer with the City of Johnstown with 24 years’ service and where he received numerous accommodations. Shawn was an original member of the SERT Team with the position of sniper and detective with the Cambria County Drug Task Force.  He also received Police Officer of the Year from the Lions Club for his relationship with the public. Shawn cherished his family, was well respected and showed compassion to the people he served. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Friends received 2-8 PM Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where F.O.P. Service will be held at 7 PM. Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Monday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 335 Locust St. Johnstown. Please meet at church if attending.  Rev. Nancy Threadgill, officiating. Interment at Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to family. Also take a friend to lunch and tell them how much they mean to you. Shawn believed in faith, family and friends.
