PAVIC---Shari Maniccia, 58, Nicktown, went to be with our Lord on October 17, 2023. Born on December 2, 1964 in Washington D.C., daughter of Jan Rabel (Vinco) and the late Donald L. Maniccia. Survived by mother Jan Rabel (partner to Michael Patchan) (Vinco). Husband Richard T. Pavic Jr. (Nicktown), son Payden S. Pavic (fiancé to Hanna Burkett) (Nicktown) and grandson Brooks M. Pavic. Survived by sister Lynn Smith married to Dennis Smith (Belsano), brother Doug Maniccia (partner to Michelle Sral) (Carrolltown), nieces Jessica, Phoebe and Lacy (married to Eric), nephews Eric, Kyle, Lonnie, Markie, and Oliver. Brother-in-law Mark A. Pavic married to Lori (Vinco) and sister-in-law Erin M. Pavic (Headricks) Preceded in death by her nephews Nicholas and Joshua. Shari was a 1987 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and 1983 graduate of Blacklick Valley Jr./Sr. High School. She was a retired income maintenance caseworker for the Cambria County Department of Welfare. She was a member of the Belsano United Methodist Church (Red Brick). Shari was a very avid reader and was never an arm’s length away from her Kindle or book. She loved watching her son play baseball and enjoyed fishing, kayaking the beach and book stores. She was a very dedicated wife and mother and was ultimately blessed with becoming a grandma to Brooks whom she adored in the last year and a half of her life. She loved her family and friends deeply and enjoyed being with her nieces and nephews. Shari fought an eight year battle with a very aggressive form of breast cancer, kicking its ass every time it raised its ugly head. She faced her diagnosis, multiple metastases and treatments with strength, grit and grace and never accepted the initial prognosis for life expectancy. She proved that the prognosis for life expectancy is simply a guess and not a given. Shari died under her and God’s terms, not cancer’s. The family would like to thank everyone that prayed for Shari’s healing and well-being. Although she is no longer with us, all of the prayers were heard and answered. At Shari's request, there will be no visitaiton or funeral service. The family is being served by Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First St., Conemaugh. Online condolences may be posted at www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
