Vitez, Sarah C., “Sally”, 72, of Richland Township, passed away on January 30, 2011 at her residence. She was born on May 7, 1938 in Johnstown. Daughter of Edward J. and M. Geraldine (Canary) Sisk. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Patricia (Sadosky) Sisk and a brother-in-law, Louis J. Bosser. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John P. Vitez, Richland Township; son, Mark married to the former Laura Stake, Salix; daughter, Debra wife of Bryan Jolley, Burbank, CA; grandchildren, Corey, Craig and Katie Vitez all of Salix, PA and Alex and Luke Jolley, Burbank, CA; brothers, Father Robert Sisk, Baltimore, MD, Kenneth married to the former Mary Agnes Rutledge, Monaca, PA, Edward Jr., Gaithersburg, MD, Patrick married to the former Bernadette Folckermor, Reading, PA and Daniel married to the former Carol Chakola, Pacific Palisades, CA and a sister, Judith Sisk, Honolulu, HI and numerous nieces and nephews. Sally was a 1956 graduate of the former Johnstown Catholic High School. She retired after 32 years of service from Sears. Sally was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and the choir; the Silver Sneakers and served on the Geistown Election Board. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her and fondly remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend. Friends received from 2-4 and 6-9 P.M. on Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor, and Fr. Robert Sisk concelebrating. Committal service will be at the church. Private burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Franciscan Missions, Loretto, PA 15940 or to Windber Hospice 600 Somerset Avenue, PA 15963 in memory of Sally.
