Cuppett â Ruth M., 93 years, 11 months and 16 days, Stonycreek Township, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2014 at the Church of the Brethren Home, Windber, PA. Born on March 21, 1920 on Benshoff Hill, Johnstown, PA, daughter of Harvey and Emma (Berkey) Berkebile. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John B. Cuppett; brother, Albert; infant sister, Mary Ellen; half brothers, Clair, and Lowell; half sisters, Celia Detweiler and Vivian Mock. She is survived by her loving children, William, married to the former Deborah Lehman, Hollsopple, Brenda, wife of Carl Weaver, Windber, David, married to the former Sandra Modis, Ebensburg, and Cindy, wife of Doug Phillips, Harrisonburg, VA; grandchildren, Scott, Matthew, Adele, Jonathan, Joshua, Cristie, Mark, Luke, Rachel, and Sarah; great grandchildren, Benjamin, Aidan, Cole, Elijah, Micah, Emma, Lylah, and Garrett; sister-in-law, Helen, wife of Jack Pfaff, Johnstown and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ruth was a 1939 graduate of Dale High School. She was a life-long member of Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren, where she served as a Deaconess. Ruth was also a member of the choir, church board, and the Climbers Sunday School Class. She faithfully served both the Womenâs Fellowship and Church Women United locally and district wide. Ruth was a volunteer in the Beauty Shop at the Church of the Brethren Home until the age of 90. She enjoyed many years of fellowship with the Happy Hemmers Sewing Club. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Ruthâs family would like to thank Windber Hospice and momâs care givers, who made it possible for her to live at her home until her final 2 weeks. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Ronald Barto officiating. Interment will be at Cuppett Cemetery in New Paris, PA.
