Peruso, Russell M. Jr. “Rusty”, 83, of East Taylor Township. He passed peacefully and gracefully to be with our Lord and Savior surrounded by his family on Feb. 19, 2018 at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born March 22, 1934 in Johnstown. Son of the late Russell A. and Jennie (Cannin) Peruso. Also preceded in death by brothers Anthony and Lawrence (killed in action, Vietnam). Survived by wife of 63 years, Barbara L. (Kalina) Peruso; children, Christine Zajdel, Michael L. (Brenda), Russell J. (Jill), David A. (Pat), and Carolyn “Chic” (Gary) Baker. Grandchildren; Nikita, Jonathan, Rebecca, Danielle, Uriah, Levi, Shiloh, Sarah, Alicia, Brenna, Samantha, and Katelyn. Brother of Charles (Emily) Peruso; also, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. 1953 graduate of Franklin High School. He served in the US Naval Reserves. Russ was a manager at Automotive Supply Company and retired from Harvey’s Supply Company. He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi parish and the Knight’s of Columbus, Fourth Degree, also held the position of Grand Knight. A member of the parish choir. Russ was a member of East Taylor #1 Election Board. He loved fishing, woodworking, tinkering in the garage, making the sauce for Sunday spaghetti dinners, cooking, and napping with a good book on the porch swing with “Tinker” his dog. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Vigil Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Friday at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, Maple Ave. FR. Matthew E. Misurda, Pastor. Committal at St. Anthony Cemetery, Geistown.
