Brubaker, Russell, W. 73 of Windber, went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2023 at home. Born on April 20, 1949 in Johnstown, PA, son of Charles and Katherine (Tressler) Brubaker. Preceded in death by his parents, and brother Richard Brubaker. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Karen (O’Shea) Brubaker; children; Stacy Colbert of Wilmington, NC; Matt (Kristy) of Windber, PA; Eric (Demi) of Lynchburg, VA; grandchildren Jacob, Isabella, Olivia, Liam, Bryce, Riley, Grace, Blake, Brody, Brinkley and companion “Sadie Mae”. Also survived by sister-in-law Patty (Mark) Beigay and nieces and nephews Michelle, Daniel, Jake, Ryan, Mike, Andrea, and Chloia Shea. Russell was a 1967 graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam war. He was a former steel worker for USSCO and co-owner/candymaker at O’Shea’s Candies. His 10 grandchildren were the light of his life, enjoying their visits, trips and many sporting events. Russ was an avid “bowhunter” his many trophies came from PA, Colorado, and Ohio. He was passionate about bow hunting with friends, Rod Hillegas, Randy Weaver, Dale Tomlinson, Phil Saylor and Wayne Dibert. Friends will be received from 11 am to 1 pm time of service May 26 at West Hills Community Church with Rev. David Streets officiating. Inurnment will be at Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Windber Hospice in memory of Russ. Thanks to Dr. Kelly Warshel, Katie, Abby, Elaine and Mike for walking with Russ on the last part of his journey.
