Rosemary Theresa Stephenson

Stephenson- Rosemary Theresa, 89, of Johnstown, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 4, 2019 at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital. Born April 17, 1930 daughter of the late Samuel Gaudig and Kathleen Gaudig Rudge. Preceded in death by her step-father Roy W. Rudge. Survived by loving daughter and caregiver Catherine and her husband Charles Howard and dearly loved Lhasa Apso, Meili. She is also survived by many dearly loved cousins and relatives. From an early age, Rosemary loved music and enjoyed singing, playing piano and performing. As a child, she was the featured singer in the dance reviews of then instructor Betty Stiffer. She was a long-time member of the former St. Benedict Parish Senior Choir where she enjoyed weekly practices, meeting friends and singing at Sunday Mass. For over 60 years, she volunteered at the parish reunion each summer working at the chicken and waffle dinners or, in her later years, at the Basket of Cheer Booth. She also enjoyed family picnics, fishing, reading, decorating her home for all of the seasons and holidays, going on casino trips and attending the annual flower shows at Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh. She was also an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan and enjoyed attending ball games at PNC Park. Throughout her life she had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and deeply loved her Catholic faith. She was a truly gentle soul who loved to help others in both small and large ways. Friends received from 3 to 7 pm Sunday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 pm Monday at St.  Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor.
