Rose Carder

Rose Carder, a native of Greenville, Mississippi was born to Jessie Wilkerson of that city and Samuel Levitan originally of Riga in Latvia, on Dec. 17, 1946. Her education took place there and later in Jackson, MS where she finished second in her graduating class at Lanier High School in 1965. Further education took place at Xavier in New Orleans and also at Millsaps College and Tougaloo College.  A talented actress, Rose appeared in many productions at New Stage, Jackson and other area theaters in the 1970’s and early 1980’s.  She finished her working career at Lockheed-Martin where she served in accounting and customer relations, first in Greenville, South Carolina and then in Johnstown where she retired in 2012, electing to remain in Cambria County.
Rose is survived by her devoted husband of some thirty years, Bill. Her sisters Jean Thornell of Mobile, Alabama, Alberta McDonald of Jackson Mississippi and brother Irving Wilkerson of Dallas, Texas. and by many, many loving nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews who will dearly miss their beloved Aunt Rose. Rose passed away on Saturday, March 4th, 2023.
