Ronald J. Varner

Varner – Ronald, J., 77, Salix, went to be with the Lord on September 2, 2018 at Windber Hospice. Born on July 12, 1941 in South Fork, PA, son of Lawrence and Laura (Ellenberger) Varner. Preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Mitchell L. Macy; brother, Glenn, and a sister, Lois Bloom. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Alberta M. (LeJeune) Varner; daughters, Tina M., wife of Philip B. Macy, Littlestown, PA, and Kathy L., wife of Randy G. Brant, Hooversville, PA; grandsons, Justin (Amy) Brant, Albrightsville, PA, Shane (Kelli) Brant, Monroeville, PA, Cody Brant, Hooversville, PA, David (Ashley) Macy, Gettysburg, PA, and Philip and his fiancée, Courtney McMaster, both of New Oxford, PA; great grandchildren, Kendalynn and Morgan Brant, Dominic Brant, and Parker and Brayden Macy; several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Ron was a 1959 graduate of Adams High School. He retired from Harvey’s Auto Supply/Cumberland Trucking after 38 years of service. Ron attended Beaverdale Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. He enjoyed car shows, puzzles, and his model trains. Ron will be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Daniel Hammond officiating. Entombment will be at Richland Mausoleum.
