Matlin – Ronald F., “Ron”, 77, Upper Yoder Township, went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2015 at In Touch Hospice, Somerset, PA. Born on March 20, 1938 in Dunlo, PA, son of the late Frank and Marie (Rudolph) Matlin. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Judith A. (Constable) Matlin; sons, Jason (Sheila) Hoover and Wesley Hoover; daughter, Lisa (Matthew) Valko; grandsons, Logan Hoover, Isaac, Austin, and Nathan Valko; brother, Kenneth (Margaret) Matlin; nephews, Kenneth (Daphne) Matlin and Michael (Juscinda) Matlin; God son, Mark (Bobbie) Bernat; several cousins, including special cousin, Gary (Maggie) Bernat; sister-in-law, Darlene (Thomas) Carstenson and numerous friends. Ron was a graduate of Adams High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving in the National Guard. Ron retired as a Utilities Coordinator from Bethlehem Steel Corp. after over 35 years of service, but continued working in the steel industry until 2001. He traveled with his wife and friends to Alaska and Bermuda. Ron was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast and member of the Harley Owners Group of Johnstown and Tire Hill Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with his family and friends and also helping others. Ron loved his family very much and will be missed by all that knew him. His family would like to thank the angels at In Touch Hospice for their loving and gentle care. At Ron’s request there will be no public viewing. A Committal Service will be held at Richland Mausoleum at the convenience of the family. Ron’s family suggests contributions be directed to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
