Garman, Sr – Ronald Lee, 79, of Bon Air passed away on April 11, 2020, at Memorial Hospital. He was born April 27, 1940 in Johnstown, son of the late Louis and Gertrude Garman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jean (Stanton) Garman; son, Richard H.; granddaughter, Kayla Kamler and great-grandson, Carson E. Kitner. He is survived by his sons, Ronald L. Jr., married to the former Karen Markiewicz, Bon Air, Brian J., married to the former Connie Kostyk, Sidman; daughters, Lisa R., wife of David Kamler, Moxham, and Karen Garman, Bon Air; daughter-in-law, Melissa Garman, Johnstown; grandchildren, Karla, wife of Clifford Kitner, Ronald III, married to the former Josie Helsel, Kara Kamler, Brian Garman Jr., married to the former Sarah Appley, and Craig and Christopher Garman, and Jacob Kitner; great grandchildren, Kenzie and Ryker Kitner, Wyatt and Gavin Garman, and Mikaylynne Garman. Also survived by his twin brother, Donald R., married to the former Patricia Gritzer and brother, Robert E. all of Park Hill; sister-in-law, Kathy Shores, Bayville, NJ, and several nieces and nephews. Ron was a graduate of Franklin High School. He retired after 28 years of service at Bethlehem Steel. Ron was a member of the Conemaugh Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed carpentry work, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family. Ron worked hard and provided for his family and instilled his work ethic in his children. Due to the current health conditions, there will be no public viewing. A private service will be held at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh, with the Rev. Craig A. Gaunt officiating. Private burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Contributions may be directed to the family in memory of Ron. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
