Robert Alan Varnish, Sr.

Varnish, Robert Alan, Sr., 63, went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2013 at his son’s home in Hooversville.  Born on October 9, 1949 in Johnstown, son of John D. and Alice Varnish. Preceded in death parents, brother, John Varnish; little buddy, Corbin Cole; Aunt and Uncle, Nat and Mary Sanchez; Aunt and Uncle, Minnie and Sam Uzelac; niece, Kimberly Varnish; sister-in-law, Sheila (Deneen) Varnish; brother-in-law, John Lamb; cousins, Dino and Petey Uzelac.  He is survived by his children, Robert Alan Jr., “Bo” of  Hooverville; Alicia J. Varnish of Johnstown; and Parrish R. (fiancé, Katherine Keith) of Johnstown; grandchildren, Brenan R. Hill “his tan Serbian”, Danashia Rodriguez, Kirsten Varnish, Derrick Varnish, Alexus Hardison, Brynnlee Varnish; great-granddaughter, Nae’Oni Love Hill; sisters, Sandy Lamb and Jackie Frick; brother, Jim Varnish; several nieces and nephews, Janine Jones, Jessica Wingard, Jason Varnish, and Allison Frick, special Uzelac Family members and Cole Family members; and former wife Deborah Cole Yarnick.  Robert owned and operated several businesses throughout his life. Bob was very proud of his Serbian heritage.  Funeral Service will be held at Saint Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church 10:00 AM Saturday with Fr. Dragan Zaric, officiating. Family and Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM  Friday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Pomen will be held at 7:00 PM and funeral prayers will start at 9:30 AM Saturday.
