Robert J. Slaventa

Slaventa – Robert J., “Bob”, 54, East Taylor Township, went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. Born on November 8, 1959 in Johnstown, son of Francis C. and Helen M. (Pinkas) Slaventa. Preceded in death by his father; infant brother, Thomas and sister, Louise. In addition to his mother he is survived by his loving son, Robert F. Slaventa, East Conemaugh Borough; brothers, Frank (Fran), MI, Ray (Cindy), Franklin Borough, and Rick, Anaheim, CA; niece, Marisa, nephew, J.R. (Amanda); great nephew, Dylan and several friends. Bob was a graduate of Bishop McCort High School and later matriculated from St. Francis College, earning a Bachelors of Science Degree in Social Work. He was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration. Bob was employed at Appalachian Youth Services for numerous years as a Social Worker. He was an avid baseball and football fan. At Bob’s request there will be no public viewing or service. Private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family at Assumption Cemetery, Fr. Robert C. Hall.
