Steeves – Robert J. “Jack”, 82, Upper Yoder Township, went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 6, 1942 in Brenizer, PA, son of Reginald and Catherine Steeves. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeff Steeves. He was the last of his 9 siblings. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Phyllis A. (Williams) Steeves; children, John, Mike (Patty), Mark, and Kelley (Lee) DeGrange; grandchildren, Jamie, Jesse, Noah, Chelsey, Taylor, Evan, Austin, and Kolby; great grandchildren, Bentlee, Autumn, and Aireon, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Jack retired from Conemaugh-Blacklick Rail Road after 39 years of service. After retiring from the R.R., he worked as a Dispatcher at U.P.J. for 10 years, along with being a Security Guard for the Pittsburgh Steelers training camp for 10 years. Jack was Chairman of the Board at the War Memorial; Chairman of Easter Seals; President of Berkley Hills Men’s Club; President of West Suburban Little League; President of Local Union #2634; President of the Johnstown Legislative Board and Central Labor Council; Chairman for Ed Cernic Jr. Controller; Masonic Lodge #538 F&AM, and the Retired Men’s Club. He was a coach for OMOS Pee Wee Football for 9 years, and a past Youth Hockey Coach. Jack enjoyed playing golf, going to games and watching sports. Jack never missed a game for his grandchildren. He loved his entire family, especially his grand and great grandchildren. Jack’s family would like to thank everyone at 1 Laurel Highland Hospice for their loving care.

At. Jack’s request, there will be no public viewing or service. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home.
