Hornick, Robert B. ("Bob"), 89 of Geistown, resident of Richland Woods, Richland for over two years. Died Oct. 28, 2012. Born 24, 1923 in Johnstown. Son of the late Frank G. and Mary C. (Disch) Hornick. Also preceded in death by wife of 57 years, Frances C. (Ball) and sister, Elizabeth Hornick. Survived by daughters: Barbara Hornick-Lockard (Dennis Lockard), Corning, NY; Frances (Terry) Smith, Silver Spring, MD; Karen Hornick (Fred Smoler), New York, NY; and Michelle Hornick Crowley (Steve Crowley), Carlisle, PA. Grandchildren: Ben and Mark Lockard, Gillian and Laura Smith, and Joe and Cecile Crowley. Brother of Mary Frances Stevons, Louise Hoffman and Ronald Hornick; brother-in-law of Janet Hornick and Edmund T. and Henry E. Ball, all of Johnstown. Bob was devoted to his family. He served as an Army combat engineer in World War II and retired as a clerk from the Gautier Division, Johnstown Plant of Bethlehem Steel. He was a lifelong member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. Bob built his own home and could repair anything. He took pride in his blueberry bushes and loved being outdoors, reading about science and American history, and listening to classical music. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where a Vigil Service will be held.
