Robert E. Fisher, Jr.

Fisher, Robert E., Jr., 82, of East Conemaugh.  Bob passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2015.  Born May 15, 1932, in Johnstown.  Son of the late Robert E., Sr. and Mary J. (Wurm) Fisher.  Also preceded in death by brother James; daughter-in-law Marcia (Yingling) Fisher; granddaughter Annette Crusan;  and  grandson Scott Crusan.  Survived by wife of 61 years, JoAnn (Pender) Fisher; son David and friend, Jody Merrick of Delaware; daughter Debra, wife of Ronald Crusan of Mineral Point; and son Robert married to Teresa (Witherow) of Richland.  Grandchildren: Veronica married to Brian Burket, Kellie married to Brian Walker, Tara married to Brian Peterman, Jill Fisher, Jacqueline married to Eric Neves, Kayla Fisher, Nicole, Michael, Benjamin, and Nathan Fisher.  Great-grandchildren: Austin, Kylie, Erika, Bailey, Antonino, Alexis, Curtis, Ella, and Tanner.  Brother of Patricia, wife of Steve Unger;   Donna , wife of Eugene Molnar; Richard and Nancy (Mateer) Fisher; and sister-in-law JoAnn (Conrad) Fisher.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  1951 graduate of East Conemaugh High School.  Air Force veteran of the Korean War.  Retired as a lineman from GTE/Verizon with 36 years  service.  Conemaugh VFD (past fire chief), Conemaugh Police Department, Cambria County Fire School Chairman/Coordinator, and Conemaugh Emergency Management Coordinator.  East Conemaugh Borough Council for 40 years, including 24 years as Council President.  Member of Cambria County Planning Commission, Lions Club, Cambria County Fireman’s Association (Past President), Western Central District and State Fireman’s Association, Fraternal Order of Police, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, American Legion, VFW, Gooseneckers, and Oddfellows.  Bob was loved by the whole family!  Friends received from 2-8 PM, Monday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where funeral service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday.  Rev. John Weaver, officiating.  Entombment at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum with military rites by Conemaugh Valley Detachment 287, Marine Corps League.
