Robert C. Callihan

Callihan, Robert C., 72, of Oakland. Died Dec. 27, 2017, at home. Born May 20, 1945, in Johnstown, PA and lived in Seward PA.  Preceded in death by parents Cal and Peg (Skelly); brothers Bernie, Bill, and Jim, and sisters Helene and Dorothy. Survived by his loving wife Barbara (Gorden) whom he was married to for a wonderful 52 years.  Also survived by sons Joseph (Sharon Killian), Thomas, Richard (Dee Stitt), and Jeffrey (Kirsten Kunz); Bob also leaves behind his grandchildren whom he loved immensely, Aaron, Ashley, Lauren, and Nicole; brothers and sisters Barbara, Diane, Joseph, Larry, and Ruth. Bob was retired from Bethlehem Steel and worked at Kircon Breco and DRS Technologies. Bob loved his family and sports.  A long time Pittsburgh Pirate and Steeler fan, he also loved watching his sons play baseball and basketball, rarely missing a game no matter where it was played, from elementary through their college careers. He loved watching his boys coach local HS basketball, and watching his grandchildren in all of their endeavors. Bob spent many years at the Lorain Moxham Little League where he served in various roles and loved helping young athletes have a place to play.  He loved playing Santa Claus in area hospitals and for children throughout the Johnstown area. Bob was also a trustee at the Oakland Vol. Fire Co.  He will be remembered fondly by his family, friends and former athletes in the area. Friends received from 4 to 7 PM Saturday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where service will be held at 7 PM. Private Committal at convenience of the family.
