Robert J. Brush

Brush, Robert J., 89, of Richland Township. Died Oct. 5, 2016, at  Conemaugh Medical Center. Born Feb. 5., 1927, in Johnstown. Son of the late Samuel M. and Wilna (Fockler) Brush. Also preceded in death by wife of 62 years, Betty A. (Lambert); son, Edward; siblings, Ralph, Samuel and Carl Brush; Vera Shank; and infant sister, Nancy; and infant great grandchildren, Alaina and Blessing Brush. Survived by son William J., married to Cheryl (Hess), Johnstown; grandsons, Jonathan ( Kara), Fort Defiance, VA; and Joel Brush (Alexis), Rapidan, VA; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Caleb, Ashleigh, Braden, Karianne and Annaleigh Brush. Brother of Donald (Jane), GA; Roy (Tish), Johnstown; and Wilna Augustine, Texas. Numerous Nieces and nephews. Navy Seabees Veteran of WW II. Retired from Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp. Life- long member and deacon at Arbutus Church of the Brethren. Bob greatly loved his family especially his grandsons and great grandchildren and enjoyed the Steelers, reading and his John Deere tractor. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where service will be held at 10 AM Tuesday. Revs. Ron Barto and Daryl Penrod, officiating. Entombment at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum. Special thank you to his nephews, Lenny and Jeff Lambert and his sister in law, Pearl Pickle, who made many trips from Lancaster, PA to visit Bob and to Prudy and Ken Hetz who loved Pap and visited often. Also thanks to Conemaugh Hospice nurses and staff at Palliative Care Unit at Good Sam 4. Very special thanks to Forest Hills Personal Care Home who welcomed Bob into their family and cherished him the last three months of his life.
