Brubaker â Robert E., âBobâ, 90, of Davidsville, formerly of Oakland, went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center with family by his side. Born on March 23, 1924 in Windber, son of E. Paul and Edna E. (Lehman) Brubaker. Preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, David, Benjamin and Thomas Brubaker. He is survived by his loving âbrideâ of 68 years, Phyllis M. (Heinze) Brubaker, Davidsville; children, Barry R., married to the former Joan Galich, Franklin, TN, Karen A., wife of Peter R. Wright, Williamsport, MD, Ronald P., married to the former Jena Cook, Monroe, LA, and Richard L., married to the former Gloria Gilbert, Collierville, TN; grandchildren, Susan (Clarke) Oldham, Franklin, TN, Sam (Dana) Wright, Hagerstown, MD, Julia (Patrick) Truby, Frederick, MD, Jeff (Maria) Brubaker, Chicago, IL, and Sara (Brian) Hendrix, Collierville, TN; great grandchildren, Tyler, Mykayla âK.K.â, Emily, Caroline, Will, Annie, Savannah, and Aubree; uncle, Alton Lehman, Ligonier, PA and several nieces and nephews. Bob was a 1942 graduate of Dale High School. He was a 2nd Lt. serving during WWII with US Army Air Corp. as a navigator in the 390th Bomb Group flying 35 missions, including the Battle of the Bulge-Fly Over. After WWII, he earned a B.S. Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. Bob retired from International Paper Company. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed traveling extensively with his wife, Phyllis. He loved his family dearly. Bob will be remembered for his positive attitude and his loving nature. Friends will be received from 2-4 on Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Monday at Bethany United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Larry Dunn officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the church on Monday by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. Private interment will be at Richland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Laurel View Village Caring Fund, 2000 Cambridge Street, Davidsville, PA 15928 in memory of Robert.
