Robert E. Berkebile

Berkebile - Robert E., 100, of Fort Pierce, FL, formerly of Salix, went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2017 at St. Lucie Hospice House, Fort Pierce, FL. Born March 3, 1917, in Salix.  Son of the late Daniel and Sadie (Noon) Berkebile. Preceded in death by first wife of 60 years, Imogene (Stumpf) Berkebile in 1994; sons, Robert and William; grandson, Daniel R. Berkebile; sister, Ethel Mock, and brother, William. Survived by wife, Emily (Meade) Berkebile, Fort Pierce, FL; children; Denver (Sandra), Johnstown; James (Suzanne), Kodak, TN.; Karen Pondell , Dearborn Heights, MI.; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Berkebile, New Boston, MI and Kathryn Berkebile, Pikeville, TN, and several nieces and nephews. Robert retired from Ford Motor Co. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Salix, PA. Friends received from 3-7 p.m. on Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Bethel United Methodist church, with the Rev. Donald L. Poole officiating. Interment will be at Dunmyer Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Bethel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 106, Salix, PA 15952 in memory of Robert.
