Sheehan, Rita M., 92, Parkhill. Died Feb. 18, 2011, in Houston, TX. while visiting her daughter and family. Born Aug.7, 1918, in Nicktown. Daughter of the late Clement and Helen (Springer) Kirsch. Also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Edwin J. Sheehan, in 2000; infant sister, Celine, grandsons, Bradley Hildebrand and Jason Best; infant great grandson, Terrence Jett; and infant great granddaughter, Bella Jett. Rita’s remarkable legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren. Children; Phyllis Bambeck, Cleveland, OH.; Judy, wife of Robert Parks, Houston, TX.; Kathleen Best, Gig Harbor, WA.; William, Cleveland, OH.; Diane Brophy, Moraga, CA.; Arthur, married to the former Linda Jones, Hawaii; Monica, wife of Glenn Hildebrand, Vinco; Eve, wife of David Roha, Greensburg, with whom Rita resided for the last year and a half; Claudia Sheehan, Athens, OH.; Kevin, married to the former Victoria Peruso, Mineral Point; and Valerie, wife of Roger Coles, Atlanta, GA. Grandchildren; Evan and Hilary Coles, Dianna Martin, Nicole Sheehan Stormer, Vanessa and Mark Sheehan, Jacob Sheehan, Mariah and Edwin Renz, Rebecca, Melanie, Max, Samuel, and Olivia Roha, Jeffrey and Russell Hildebrand, Daniel Sheehan, Bruce, Sean, and Kevin Brophy, Michelle Brophy Jett and Tara Brophy Hammons, Douglas, Elayne and Karyn Best, Monte Parks, Renae Parks Tice, Melinda Parks Coleman, Lance Parks, Erin Parks Avera, Patti Bambeck Daugherty and Daniel Bambeck, as well as 15 grandchildren in law. Sister of Ethel Wensel, Newport News, VA.; Bernard Kirsch, Nicktown; Louann, wife of Kenneth Kline, Nicktown; and Doris, wife of Donald Logue, Olmstead Falls, OH. Rita retained her sense of humor and quick intellect until the very end, delighting in regularly winning Scrabble, Rummicube and cards against much younger opponents. She wrote extensively in her daily journal. Rita loved to travel all her life, both nationally, visiting children and internationally, visiting Europe. Some of her most delightful hours were spent on her front or back porch of her home watching the birds and talking to her family. She deeply loved her family and was dearly loved for her kindness and goodness. Member of Church of the Transfiguration, Conemaugh and Ladies Guild. A volunteer for Senior Citizens. Friends received from 2-8 pm Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First St. Conemaugh, Pa. 15909, where wake service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am Friday at her church. Fr. Robert C. Hall, Pastor. Committal at church cemetery.
