Weimer– Richard D. Sr., 79, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2021. Born on July 17, 1941 in Johnstown, son of George D. and Evelyn M. (Downton) Weimer. Preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Ruth H. (Killian) Weimer; brother, Bob; sister, SuzAnn George; sister-in-law, Deloris “Poo” Weimer, and a brothers-in-law, Blaine “Bucky” George and Harold “Hank” Dameron. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sherry E. (Arnold) Weimer; children, Richard D. (Patricia), East Berlin, PA, Robert R. (Charlene), Saxton, Georgia D. (Kenneth) Vivis, East Taylor Township, Robert (Wendy) Allison, Pittsburgh, Virginia (Brian) Magi, Philadelphia, and Russell Allison, Waldorf, MD; grandchildren, Anthony and Alex, Kenneth, Kevin, and Kristopher Vivis, Carleigh, and Caitlin Weimer, and Adam, Jason and Ronnie Zahurak; great-grandchildren, Kenneth V, Rae’lee, Elizabella, Samantha, Carson, Hayden; siblings, Donald Weimer, Virginia Beach, VA, Sandra (Ronald) Reynolds, East Conemaugh, and Deborah Dameron, Fort Worth, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. Rich was a graduate of Conemaugh High School. He was employed at Suppes Motors as autobody technician and later retired from Penn Line Service, where he was employed as a Foreman. Rich was a member of the Conemaugh Fire Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as spending time with his family at their camp in Potter County. He will be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Richard passed away peacefully in his sleep at his daughter’s home where he resided for the last 5 months. His daughter was his care provider for the last 6 years along with his wife and Dawn McClain, Maureen Helsel, Amanda Keener, Brenda Rorabaugh and Mary Ann from Hospice 365. They took great pride in caring for him and showed tremendous love for Richard. The family thanks Hospice 365 and all who dedicated their time to Richard. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Pastor Bob Kephart officiating.
