Trabold - Richard K., “Dick”, 90, of Richland, went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2018. He was born on April 23, 1928, in Johnstown. Son of Arnold A. and Elizabeth F. (Clarke) Trabold. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, William and Robert, and son-in-law, Paul Webb. Survived by loving wife of 63 years, Vera M. (Weakland) Trabold and these children; Cindy Webb, Richland; Eric, married to the former Joanne (Leuser), Columbus, OH; Diane (Dee) Crownover, Richland; Kurt, married to former Linda (Pound), Fredrick, MD; Charmaine Moan, Port St. Lucie, FL; Todd, married to former Sharon (Palen), Richland. Brother of Florence, wife of Theodore Bischof, Atlantic Beach, FL. He had 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Dick played the Eb tuba in the St. Joseph’s Grade School Band, German Austrian Band and the Conemaugh Polish Band with his father and brothers. He also played the spoons with many pick-up bands. Dick was an alter server for over 20 years and a 1946 graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School. Worked for The Trabold Truck Co family business. Received an Associate Degree in Engineering from Penn State University, where he was member of the TAU EPSILON CHI Honor Society. He was a Korean War Veteran. CWO4 (Retired), U.S. Navy/Naval Reserves with 39 years of honorable service. Retired foreman in the Mechanical Maintenance Dept. of U.S. Steel Corp. Member of Pipefitters Local #354. Dick was a member of St. Benedict Church, Geistown. He was a three-time award winner of the Dale Carnegie International Impromptu Speech Competition. Dick was a Life Member of the following organizations: Catholic War Veterans Post #1103, American Legion Post #238 Cresson, Menoher Post #155 VFW, Reserve Officers Assoc., and the Fleet Reserve Assoc. A Plank Owner of the U.S. Navy Memorial, Washington, D.C. and also a founding member of the Korean War National Museum, Springfield, Il. A special thank you to April, Arbutus Park Manor Personal Care staff and Aseracare Hospice for their tender loving care. Friends received 3-7 p.m. on Monday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Benedict Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, with military honors conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW, Ritual Team.
