Tkacik, Richard A. âKitâ, 72, of Geistown Borough, passed away on November 23, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on February 21, 1939 in Windber. Son of the late Charles E. and Bernice C. (Dravis) Tkacik. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Roseann M. Leibfreid. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marlene J. (Cononie) Tkacik; daughters, Pamela M. wife of Thomas C. Clark, East Taylor Township and Bridget M. wife of Roger L. Lowery Jr., New Florence; grandchildren, Heather and Andrew Clark, Chad (Alyissa) and Matthew Leibfreid, Lynsdy (Ryan), Roger III (Jennifer), Marlyce and Brittany Lowery; great grandchildren, Haley Harker, Joey, Jacob and Landon Leibfreid, Jaydon and Kamron Hinton; brother, David F. and his fiancée, Marilynn Spinosi, Birmingham, AL; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Kit was a 1957 graduate of Richland High School. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force. Kit was employed at Hamilton Standard Air Craft, CT, where he assembled aircrafts. After moving to Johnstown he was employed at Sears for 19 years, where he was a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. Upon retiring he was employed at Cernics in shipping and receiving. Kit was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Moxham. He enjoyed wood working, feeding birds, and watching the Steelers. Kit loved his entire family but especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends received from 1-3 and 5-7 P.M. on Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Father Matthew Reese, Pastor. Committal will be at St. Anthonyâs Cemetery, Geistown. Memorial contributions may be directed the family in memory of Kit.
